Situated off the southern coast of Queensland on Australia's east coast, Fraser Island is considered the largest sand island in the world and is a World Heritage Site. The island, which measures 120 km (75 mi) long and 24 km (15 mi) wide, is home to extensive sand dunes, rain forests, eucalyptus woodland and mangrove forests.
